1. I'm a programmer, that does not mean I know every possible programming language. Yes, I can build Android apps, standalone softwares, serverside frameworks. No, I do not know how to build frigging websites!

2. "You can build a website in 2 days, you're a programmer". Tell a single mechanic to build an entire car in 2 days or tell a civil engineer to build an entire building in 2 days and I'll build your website in 2 days.

AAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!
Why does your family think that being a programmer means being a magician who can just pull any kind of software, hardware, app, website out of their hat?

@-eth yes. With enough experience, a simple website (with more than just basic styling) can be built in 2 days.

@-eth UPDATE: I did manage to build a website in 2 days. Downloaded a free bootstrap template, spent a day playing around with all the tags to understand how things were working. Spent the next day modifying the content to my needs. And voila, i have a website ready. Although it looks extremely generic and off the shelf, but atleast it's working :D

I started to accept this tasks. Just I do a very crude website. At that point there are 3 alternatives.

    1. The client is happy with the result and everything is ok.

    2. The client is not happy with the result and never come back to you.

    3. The client starts to understand that a web site is not a simple task and pay more to improve the site.
