We recently had an error in legacy systems about a user trying to find photographers in Virginia but somehow it shows photographers in Mexico. Apparently it's because both Mexico and Virginia have the same zip code XD guess whatever it uses to search stuff didn't think the company would be used past the US.

Wow. But as long as the country code exists in the database, it should be a simple fix.

What's the zip code of Mexico?

@electrineer Basically I believe whoever coded it never assumed the business would also operate in Mexico so never filtered by country for zip code too, just filtered by zipcode

Dude, we have this database with detailed positions of facilities, and some maniac decided to place two different shipping container aprons in the exact same lon/lat, but on different altitudes. Like 10-20m different.
You see, sometimes you have multiple aprons in the same dock, but those aprons cannot be on top of each other. Some of our systems would treat two overlapping aprons as one single thing, and others would not. And that specific dock was supposed to have a single apron.
Dock crews have an score for their speed when unloading ships. That score is inversely proportional to how many facilities are available at the dock.
You can see where this is going. Dock crews dreaded that one because it would tank their average scores for no fault of their own. Maintenance crews would be paid twice. Forecasted ship unloading time would be nearly half what it should have been. And no one could tell freaking why.
Fucking check your data before stacking money on it. We learned the hard way.
