In person interview is normally less work than take home test.

Lesson learned.

A take-home test should either be 10min, paid, or so engaging I will spend my entire weekend learning something new, and deliver you a damn repo.

Last one was amazing. Gave me a task to solve however I wanted, use how much time I wanted. Make an api with x methods for DB. Could be done in an hour with example JSON and whatever.

Ended up using like 8-16 hours, I learned myself a lot of new technologies, and I now have a kitchen-bench to try new things.
