I am a man, I can clean and cook reasonably well and have no problem doing these things for a larger household but I have terrible work ethic and get goosebumps at the thought of having to apply to jobs (even though I'm gonna have to very soon so as not to fucking die).

How many people can actually grow their own food? Build their own shelter?

It's just about where you draw the line. I agree that those traditional role things are out dated at the least.
You can pay other people to do household stuff that's how the new generation does it take out and cleaners.
