Yeah. Drives me crazy everytime someone sends me such an image. I can understand that the average user may not know these tools, but a developer?!
-
JohanO20508yIt always makes me smile when I hear 'snipping tool' as the word 'snippa' in swedish is the kid vocabulary for the female genitalia
-
mundo0349798ySometimes it is just faster. So you don't have to snip it, sent it to you phone, rant it.
Jus take the pic and rant away.
Besides, sometimes showing a photo makes more sense #artmadafaker -
@mundo03 can't think of a situation where taking a picture would be faster. Opening camera app on phone and focussing already takes a few seconds.
On the pc its just one button. And one of my tabs is prob Facebook or Whatsapp so ctrl+v and its on my phone. Whatsapp even lets you resize it. Facebook and Whatsapp sync to my gallery so on my phone I do not even have to leave the devRant app.
As a plus people can actualy see whats on my screen. -
sudo apt-get install shutter
Ask a friend to take a picture of that. Mail it to you. Open the pic with Chrome. Have Project Naptha installed. Make sure it has access to local files. Copy and paste to terminal. -
Screenshots can be faked easier than photos. I find a photo to have more legitimacy
-
@Lisanna I thought it was pretty standard for people to have Whatsapp and Facebook on their phone.
-
@Lisanna yeah, press screenshot and ctrl+v on your pc in a conversation with yourself.
Then it should be in your phone gallery at the top. At least on my Android with my settings. But I do not think I changed them for both apps. -
Voxera115858y@aronmik dont use facebook or whatsapp and I almost never share any files between phone and pc so I have no need for any filesharing setup.
And in that situation a photo of the screen will be much faster that any other solution.
Besides, I rarely take photos of a screen where great detail is important. -
I like phone pics for the fact that you can almost always get a glimpse of people's gear! Sometimes the surroundings tell a rather interesting story!
-
@Lisanna personal prefference I think? Still can't find a situation for myself where taking a picture would be easier.
Maybe I need a faster phone. But taking a picture takes about 3 seconds where a printscreen not even one.
But well, you gotta do what you prefer most. :) -
Salmakis6738yTaking photo is faster, even snipping tool takes a second to cut out the wanted area, and then get it onto the Smartphone... (i dont use facebook nor whatsapp)
What the hell is wrong with you guys taking screenshots with your goddamn phone?! Ever heard of that small magical programm called "snipping tool"? It's like fucking screenshot porn! And yes, there is a screenshot programm on Linux too. Goddammit. Are you devs or fucking newbie users?
