Ever since I've switched to Linux, I've stuck with Ubuntu. Thinking about changing it up and trying something new. Any suggestions?

Would suggest elementary as well, but if you want something diferent. Antergos, Solus, Manjaro. And for DE's: Xfce for performance, Gnome Shell if you want to die, KDE if you want 2000's design or Cinnamon for prettier/heavier same experience as XFCE

If you're interested in playing the Linux game, I'd suggest going with Debian and then install your environment of choice. it's a nice learning experience, having to work through some of the things that a distro like Ubuntu does for you.

I suggest installing Arch, it's a great learning experience.

    Anything with GNOME on top

    What about Antergos?

Ill be the one: Stick with it. Their update routine is nice, i like the interface, its fast and stable.

    Mint or deepin maybe?

@linuxxx isn't Deepin possibly spyware, though?

Please try out KDE NEON / Mint KDE edition which comes with plasma 5.8.x

It is way more stable and good than people rant about it.

Linux distributions are a matter of personal preference (mostly) so download a couple of them and boot up a vm and test them out.

To learn, Gentoi is a great experience, for regular work openSUSE Tumbleweed - stable rolling distro.

Everytime I see a recommendation with the caveat: 'it's a learning experience', I think what they mean is that it will be a pain in the ass to set up.
