I don't really have a Problem with that. This is a feature which isn't used by every app. So If you want it you can use this library.
I have more problems with the APIs and Libraries that Google actually builds. They have awesome features and they are great, when they work. But they are often totally overengineering and the documentation is one sample app, which covers one of the many use cases.

Not surprising. The Android Framework has been thrown together in a hurry back in 2006 and has not seen a major overhaul since then. Just take a tour through the sourcecode and you'll see what im talking about
