Just a heads up if they are using UEFI (highly doubt it since you said you were going to retire them). But better to make you aware of the issue before hell breaks loose.

I have done "rm -rf ~/" on my workstation just before leaving for a new job. Was a nice feeling watching files dissappear :)

You should probably also add the -v (verbose) flag. Otherwise it's going to be quite a boring experience :P
