What is touch typing?

@orijin the ability to type without watching your hands. Not necessarily faster hand movements, but having your eyes constantly on screen you notice mistakes right away. And even better after a while, you just *feel* you made a typo.
You can e.g. write while having your eyes on something else, data sheet, stackoverflow, pretty birds outside your window (I once was doing this last one while typing a boring E-mail, when a colleague entered my room... He was amazed ;) )

Is this not what real typists do? We just suck at typing.
