@torbuntu Yeah I'm starting to get to that point where Android development will probably just end up as a hobby of mine instead of doing it full time professionally.

SomeNone7135yI'm thinking a good answer to an interviewer asking whether one has a successful app in Google Play Store would be something along the lines of, 'if I had a successful app with millions of donwnloads in the store, I wouldn't be applying for this position because I'd be rich enough and too busy working on that app.'

Well, do you have already experience with these techno ? If “No” : Yes you can rise to the challenge, but company is not paying you so you learn. That’s junior position. They are paying you to deliver.

@NoToJavaScript I do have 5 going on 6 years of experience. However every shop has a different setup with what tech package they work with. It pretty much seems like they only want to hire former employees instead of a new guy.
I get the delivery expectation but for me to either be a former employee or miraculously work in a almost identical shop as them is something else. I can deliver, but as with working with any new place, there are things that are way different between orgs.
I really don't get how every, single, mobile developer, position practically requires you to be a top developer on the Google PlayStore. Because if you're not you're "too junior".
It's like none of these companies understand that just because I don't already know your tech in and out and don't have 1mill+ downloads on my apps doesn't mean I can't rise to the challenge.
Been on the hunt for 2 years now, and have been put through the interview loop more than I can count with me never getting past the first round interview.
