How do you turn off work mode when you clock out of your job?

I do things that have nothing to do with HW/SW development. I sing in a choir, I play the flute, I read a lot, and best of all, I go on long hikes during which I don't listen to music, use GPS or make any photos. I just stash my phone in my rucksack and pretend technology doesn't exist.

Just turn off the computer and mobile.
    Meet friends.
    Roam around the city.

    A long walk

Gaming works for me. I still game with coworkers though

Or get a girlfriend, she’ll take up a lot of your time as well. At least in my case. It’s difficult to work at home when she’s home. Thus I rarely work anywhere else than at the office

@acz0903 I read you "use GPS _to_ make any photos". That would have been interesting. Meet me at the dickbutt route.

E: and now I realized your point was that you don't do those things while hiking

You just need any activity that is more interesting and important to you than work

    1) Heroin 2) Meditation 3) Somewhere in between, but leaning toward the latter. ;`]

The long-ass drive home is normally enough to switch modes

    Weed.

I drive home, which takes 25 minutes if traffic flows freely, and possibly twice as long if it doesn't, and will surely put me in a different frame of mind, with or without listening to the radio.

    Pick the "switch"

By taking a shower and smoking a joint

I have to sit and let my mind buzz until it stops. That involves unplugging and doing nothing.
