so today at supermarket I was asked if my credit card has wifi ... apparently she meant if it's contactless

    I've actually said "is it wifi?" before, meaning is the machine contact less 🙄

    @irene those cards, that claims to be contactless, still needs to be touched to the device to make payment. It is just like that stupid so called wireless charging, dude you still have a wire to take care of.

    @richangsharma they work fine while inside a card holder, so the card never has to touch the reader, just ask anyone who uses the London underground.

    @nibor ok 🤔🤔 I am from india, have always seen people touching it to the machine, it doesn't use something similar to NFCs?

    What @irene said. It uses nfc, same as your phone. You don't slap your phone on the reader when using apple pay do you?

    @nibor I have a one plus phone, I just tried paying through my nfc enabled card on Zara Application, I brought the card close to the phone(without cover) but it didn't detected the information, but when I touch it to the back of the device it takes the creds instantly. 🤔🤔
