I think there are DIY charger sets. They come with all the components and instructions, you're only left to assemble them. Haven't seen/looked for them myself, I was just told by my pa' he's seen such kits somewhere online. Ali? Wish? Idk

Your suggested kit sounds solid, there are a lot of sensors and other stuff, good to experiment around and to do crazy stuff.
And keep showing interest in what he is doing, this keeps motivation high. -
@NoMad we looked into those three years ago, as well as laser cutting and engraving. but for various reasons there was lack of interest. Trying to capitalize on this new interest he has. Maybe the 3D printing will become an interest as he wants to develop housings for finalized gadgets.

orimligt4505yThat kit sounds good, was about to propose Arduino with a starter kit and saw it was just that. I recently got some time to tinker with my own Arduino which was very fun since the guide is really easy to follow and explains basic concepts

Looking for recommendations on electronics learning kits. My 16 year-old son has recently been tearing into old electronics and trying to make new stuff with the components. I want to give him a more formal and engaging intro to what it is he’s playing with and how many other cool things he could do. He does struggle a bit with math and gets discouraged easily if he doesn’t understand new concepts or why they’re relevant. So, if you know of a good learning kit that balances lots of cool possibilities with good documentation and tutorials, I’d appreciate a little help.
I’m currently looking at Elegoo. https://amazon.com/EL-KIT-008-Proje...
