People who put stickers on laptops... Are they badges of honour or aspirational?

So, if you code in VB6, but want to write Reason code, do you have VB6 stickers, showing you have lived through it, or Reason stickers, hoping that recruiters read your laptop stickers.

Or, is it just some undirected mess when you are handed a sticker and you put it on---like a reflex action?

Yes, what I put on my laptop is ehat I can at least do, but not all. I wouldn’t put something I can’t work with on it

Some people also put on stickers of events to show where they have attended to.

Another thing I've wondered... What happens when you get a new laptop? Remove the old screen and mount it as a piece of art?

I like how they look, I really do. But I always fear that they will give a feeling of unprofessionalism when dealing with certain customers.

I've had my customers walk up to initial meetings in full business suits and shit. Would probably scare them off with gopher and python stickers all over my laptop.

My love for money far outweighs my love for stickers. Which is damn near none.

@theKarlisK This I like. 15 JS stickers to show how many project tours you've survived. Makes the point that code isn't fun---it's war. Us against it. Celebrate each victory.

@theKarlisK What about just taking a large, scary knife and slicing a notch on the side of the lid after every 1.0 release? Fuck stickers. Having a battle-scarred laptop shows what it's *really* like in the trenches.

@theKarlisK another reason to buy a new one?

@Nanos when getting the stickers off, try using an erases to rub off the residue glue. Works for me.
