What bugs me the most is that those bastards we rant about here most certainly don't suffer from that as it's all sandboxed in their arrogance while we are constantly questioning ourselves (which might however keep us from becoming them)

Just calculated it for me. Just the regular hours and no time calculated for about 40 meetups I've been to. I invested 14696h to build dumb shit but learned a lot.
Damn it.. that's much time.

Just don’t agree with the way of thinking that 3 years of experience is enough to become a master programmer / senior..

I have had shit lots of stuff to learn with only 3 years of experience..

A thousand hours more and I’ll finally have become good at it😄 (because of the 20k to become good at something rule)

I wonder what an average number of days spent coding in a year for a full time job is. I'm thinking maybe about 30 weeks after taking off meetings and shit plus holidays. That might be a generous though. So that's about 150 days, at 8 hours a day, is 1,200 hours a year. So I'm at about 32,000 hours now 😳

@nibor Damn... that's a long time! Do you have the feeling of an imposter Syndrom still? Or when was the last time you felt it? I am quite curious, sry if I am being rude.

I just noticed that, by this calculation, I only programmed 1000 h more than I played counterstrike source in my stupid years...

Since when putting up hours equals skill? It sure helps but it certainly isn't the sole factor
