Just tell them you can't do it. If you've not signed anything that states this they can't force you or sack you, if they do you have a good case. Plus they must pay you for it. Good luck with the interview. Time with your kids when they are young is so important.

Raich26478y@helloworld they can Force me to do 2 hours overtime every day, but they took away my compensation for working during commute So I now commute for 3.5 hours a day and get nothing for working there anymore. Told them to forget calling me at emergencies anymore, I'm not bringing my laptop or work Home anymore. 3 months resignation notice where I won't be able to change this will suck.
-
@Raich what a set of bastards, maybe you can get a job closer to home. 3 months notice sounds excessive. I'd check wether that's enforceable though.
-
I know this is a bad advice, but if they don't let you leave early, have a lot of Ooops moments. It worked for me. Took them 3 days to let me go :)
-
I can't imagine why anyone would want a coder working for them against their will. Where does this produce any real valuable part of any product. You can always pull a "better call Saul" where you take shits without flushing and start wearing weird outfits and such...

m0j0nz0r3458ystart having fun with the code. make it overly convoluted. use libraries in alpha. comment/document nothing. take deadlines as friendly suggestions. show up to the office in boxers, a t-shirt and crocs.
-
m0j0nz0r3458y@m0j0nz0r oh and try to see how much code can you cram unto a single line. Take it as a personal challenge.

Raich26478yFirst interview done, went ok. I'm pretty solid match, but I might take a paycheck cut in it so considering passing and keep looking.
-
@Raich way up commute times, hours etc. Company ethos, and other shit. The pay cut may not actually be as big of a factor... good luck!
-
@Etrunon - you can always throw an additional = into all of your if statements and for loops... But, the best thing is to be wasteful on paid resources, be it bandwith, processing time, storage space... and you always can say that you're just making sure that data is backed up and/ or double-checked :) And, of course, start solving problems with empty catch blocks. :)
Secret job interview tomorrow, I've had it with this place and it keeps getting worse. Today they took away the last thing that made it liveable and forced me to have 5 hour longer days for the forseeable future. 3 of them with no extra pay.
I have kids I barely get to see today with longer days I will never see them.
Fuck this, I'm out.
