    Well why couldn't the UI of an OS be built with html. Of course the kernal needs to be built with C but you could build a rendering engine on top of the kernal and the interface could be made with html.

    Interesting fact that some of the Windows 98 Windows were in fact html and css. I spent a few weeks creating custom folder views when j discovered that little fact.

    @ftyross I'm surprised they didn't do the same for windows 8 with some of there UI design choices.

    Tizen and one of the Linux DE (i think gnome) had an option to customize or create an ext./app with js+css
