So I'm required to take an intro Java course at my university, and can't test out...

My professor actually just described constructors as classes, not analogous to, or metaphorically. He said they were classes. All of the students are now confused out of their minds. Should I say something?

@g-m-f that's what I thought originally, but it was reinforced over the course of the lesson. I'm not really one to correct a prof, so I didn't say anything.

Don't know... I also had to do a class for half a year and I literally knew 1000 times more than the teacher. He knew this, and just let me do my thing and gave me A+'s

@kanduvisla I'm sure he's a smart guy, and I definitely don't think I know more than him. After all, he's the one getting paid to teach.

@solar I have found many people who are supposed to be very knowledgeable in their fields don't really know a whole lot. I'd say something but not in front of others to avoid any embarrassment.

i made the mistake of trying to correct a professor once. He worked a problem on the board, a fairly basic algebra problem, but he reversed a couple of values and got the wrong answer. The answers were given in a set of multiple choices in the book and his answer wasn't in the set. I tried to point out the error. My name was mud after that and he pretty much despised me the rest of the semester. So I would recommend not telling him.

@solar getting paid to teach doesn't mean directly they know the matter. Especially in IT it's a common fact that most teachers are years behind the current technology.
