Minecraft will yet again be changing how the version numbering works.

As a kid that always waited for major versions of the game to release and as a kid that identifies with specific versions of the game (1.6, 1.8 my BABIES), my heart aches and my confidence that the game has been fully ruined is continuing to grow.

At least I can just ignore all that and keep playing, the core mechanics are largely unchanged (except combat...)

I remember when games never got updated and you had to pay for the next version. Minecraft was one of the games that broke that mold. I am just jazzed that I get a new version of the game every year it seems.

I also remember when Devrant had a valid https certificate...

I should also point out. You can go get practically any previous version and play it. I have never seen a company do that except for Minecraft. Most launchers support downloading previous versions. At least they used to.

    Yeah... consistency is boring.

Seriously, though, once you're using a good versioning system, you should stick w/ it.
