I have three friends who either used to, or still like it. Then again, at previous job I worked alongside a slew of other programmers that weren't.
-
int325158dI used to play guitar, but now I just inspire my musician lover to write lyrics and make music lol. So I guess that kinda counts... -
glowFX1888dI would really like to. Even have two friends who would love to start a band with me.
However we all don't have time for it due to family etc. -
@antigermanist wat for software so you use for midi? Did you know brands do have their own midi files like Yamaha?
-
Never big on writing music since I have too much of a kartoffenkopf for it, but playing, yes. Every day.
-
@whimsical i use a daw called bitwig but my own daw is on the way. I wrote it in C and one day I'll totally finish all my pet projects
-
@whimsical the thing is i have an 8 string guitar and I bought a little 12 keys keyboard with 3 wheels, I need to write something custom so i could do it all while playing:
- recording/looping on each slot (i push key, it start recording, then i push again, it starts looping).
- a quantizer
- a patch bay with vst / nam plugs. That way i can add reverb / ML-assisted treatements that mimics real hardware
- maybe some sort of raw mode so i can use it as a keyboard and send it to a synth or a sampler -
(because the keyboard is sticked just below the strings so i can access it easy)

torbuntu842dIn FL Studio there is now a "VFX Script" plugin for using Python to program things like midi or automation. Been trying to find a way to set up syntax hilighting in Pycharm to be a bit easier to work with but it looks like their internal python library is private...
