They discovered that they can put features behind a beta toggle and now everything is half-assed and hidden behind beta ffs.

    They should give you at least x times a day if such features, if you can't try it, I'm gone. Perplexity gave a few deepsearches a day and became customer because of that. Then, they had perplexity labs, behind the no try beta button and that was even greater. Generating custom made manuals tailored to my experience level for subjects now. Some are like sixty pages. You can generate pdf, or a website. Charts, everything.

    Yeah at least steam is cracking down on this a little bit. It's interesting to see how tech trends, game trend and mobile trends intertwine to enshite each other

    Suspiciously close to the release of the AI slop-ified Google Finance, which includes a beta switch (that I have switched to “classic” because new version is dogass

    @BordedDev Yeah. In gaming it started w/ the whole digital releases thing. Used to be the case that w/ physical releases, you had to make sure the product was as bug-free as humanly possible, else the recall would bite you in the ass.

    But then, the digital releases w/ patches came by. Now, we have the approach of "let's release it as is, we'll patch it later" mentality... && thus we have things like day 1 patches of 100 GBs...

    @D-4got10-01 I swear there was a game where a patch was significantly bigger than the actual game...

    @BordedDev Seems highly likely.
