@D-4got10-01 for charging yes, I don't see the point of wireless charging in current state of tech. But headphones, Bluetooth over a thousand times. My headphones are 300mah (nothing) but still never empty. They go actually loader than non-Bluetooth ones. I was into Sony, Philips and primarily Sennheiser (dad was audiophile, it was microphone brand back in dem day) and all the cables were fucked, of all of them. The only reason I had to replace them. Mostly 50 -100 euro ranged devices. I'm shocked that I have one of 15,- atm. 15 year old me had it never believed. I bought this thing as a joke, literally. But then it had exactly my sound. Some extra bass, quite good volume, never empty. And that's so cheap makes it very comfy for me too use, throwibg it around :p

@whimsical !a fan of Bluetooth earphones. Have used them for a while, but I still prefer the good old wired miniJack 3.5 mm. I've even found what appears to be a good solution for newer phones that let the jack die.

    ...still funny.

@whimsical I don't get why everything needs to have batteries. It's even hard to find a compressor to inflate tires that doesn't come with a battery.

My dad has one from over 20 years ago. Trust me the battery powered one won't make it past 3 years. Likely two years with irregular charges and poor conditions in the bike shed.

How many more wireless mice, keyboards and worst of all earbuds do we need to go trough in a lifetime?

@D-4got10-01 thanks for that one! I miss Jack too. I also think that phones should come with two usb-c ports if you really must omit useful things like a jack.

@hjk101 Yup. The lack of Jack in newer phones sucks. Of all the solutions I've researched, which are mostly hubs that connect to the device via cable first, which doesn't exactly scream portability, this one looks most promising: 'SATECHI USB-C Mobile Hub, with 4K HDMI, 100W Pass-Through Charging, 10Gbps Data Transfer, 3.5mm Audio Jack Port'.

    https://amazon.co.uk/dp/B0DKVH6JXR/

The price of £44.99 is on the higher end, yes, but looking at the ports it provides everything I'd need, which includes a pass-through USB-C for charging, unlike those simple USB-C to minijack.

I'm ordering this thing in a month or two.

@D-4got10-01 connection wise that seems sweet. Portability a bit less and for the jack to work the adapter needs the dac/amp. This is often really bad. I've tried some cheap usb-c to mini, while I don't need miracles the static background noise was ruining the music and just annoying to keep headphones in without playing anything. Went with Fiio ka1 that is good but has some issues (short loud "shuck" sound every few seconds) with select phones (including mine) which they finally fixed in the firmware.

This is why I hate this. The best option seems to be buying headphones with a usb-c connector instead of mini-jack. You can't charge and listen at the same time though unless you go for a wireless charger. Basically forcing even more inefficient wireless crap...
