Thinking about getting into freelancing. Tips for getting the first client?

There are many websites where you can set yourself up as a freelancer and apply for positions businesses offer, I'd advise you to sign up to all of them! Also showcase your skills on fiverr and similar websites. However don't underestimate the value of going to local businesses and telling them why they need a new website or software suite etc. I'm not a freelancer this is just how I would approach it. Join all the freelance sites. Grind until you meet good clients you can keep long term. Leave all the freelance sites because they are cancer. Profit.
