kiki373832dthe backstory is that my eye surgeon forgot to give me anesthesia drops, so once clinic-administered anesthesia wore off, the pain became unbearable, so I ate a lot of nimesulide I've prepared in advance.
it turnt out I was allergic to it. -
I claim bleeding lungs as at least equally bad. I was mildly jaundice once from the drugs I was on for the other stuff and didn't feel much worse.

My backstory is multiple large bloodclots in my lungs caused part of my lung tissue to die. When the attending doctor saw the scan while explaining my case to a load of students his reaction was "wow!". He then switched to super professional.

@kiki SO! In July 2020 I was very unwell, suspected covid but pcr and antibody tests were both negative. Then October 2020 I'd developed large bilateral pulmonary embolisms (2 large blood clots in artery going from heart to lungs). This had blocked blood flow to part of my lung causing it to die. Dead tissue ruptured and bled into my lungs. I was also diagnosed with high thyroid, one complication of which is also blood clots. I lost like, 25kg in this time and stuff. When I was in hospital I'd lost like, a litre of blood. They wanted to put an arterial line in which is incredibly painful if you miss the bit of skin with local anaesthetic. So anyway, the 4th of 8 attempts to get the arterial line in, they missed the bit of skin with local anaesthetic, I swore a lot, heart rate went from 150 to 40, doctor called a code cuz he thought he'd killed me. I woke up 20 seconds later with a doctor stood over me saying "I don't want you to worry but there's about to be a lot of doctors rushing into the room".

kiki373832d@atheist omg. I'm so sorry. that's how people die, and it's so cool that you didn't. was quite a ride wasn't it

Recurring kidney stones, that is.. One passes through -- 7 more are brewing. Multiplying every year

@kiki I'm now so much better than I was (still not "well"), my employers have been twats about this since the day I joined. I didn't have the capacity to fight then but now I do. They're incompetent. They're insane. They're going to be taken to court.

@kiki hope you get better soon
@atheist wild medical story, glad you survived.
When I was 16, my left lung collapsed. Extremely painful, something called spontaneous pneumothorax. Anyway they have to stab a one way valve into your chest cavity to let the air out and re expand the lung. Also extremely painful.
Doctor said to give me 50cc of morphine(i don't remember the real number, so let's use that). The nurse thought it was high so decided to give me half and see how I reacted before giving the other half. Thank God! I'm allergic and my heart stopped. I had passed out and fell off the bed onto the floor. Woke up being recussitated(sp?), with hives all my body and vomiting everywhere. I managed to vomit so hard the valve in my chest dislodged and came out, letting air back in and collapsing my lung again.
I ended up with 5 of these things between 16 and 17. They stopped with surgical removal of part of my left lung. Now I float crooked. -
retoor85341d@kiki point is, see stories of others here, a lot of thinks are not a "walk on the park".
liver failure is the single shittiest feeling you're gonna experience. I know what it feels like to be cut open, also amnesia, also paranoia, also depression, but let me tell you: liver failure is the fucking worst.
imagine sprinting one mile while thirsty in 110F heat while having severe food poisoning and flu. that's how it feels, pretty much
