Stack Overflow has really gone to shit. I had a bad experience with a recent Qt6/Python question, or really two questions both of which were closed and deleted!

I was just going to ignore it, but some recent talk on the Fediverse made me write up a full post about it:

    Reminded me of this:

Unfortunately I can't remember where I found it.

The stupid system of not allowing questions that have been asked before like 17 years ago is really irritating. I recently asked a genuine question regarding I/O stream and it got deleted because someone already asked that before. When I googled for it, it was on the damn third page of google. Who tf would go through all the pages in google just to check if a question has been asked before or not?

@AalbatrossGuy Nevermind that tech could have changed in that time

I remember answering a questioning about an issue when android development was happening with the eclipise system. I said the guy had ran into a bug. There was a clear bug report for it on google's tracker, got downvoted because "Nu-uh" (even though the asker was happy and got upvotes as well) but because I didn't have enough upvotes at the time I wasn't allowed to comment against the guy who down voted

@BordedDev It sucks so much. These overly strict "rules" of stackoverflow is probably what led to its downfall
