A-C-E57026y@JoshBent @jonii ah, ok. I realize my question may have been worded weirdly considering most payment platforms require you to give up PII.
Are there at least any that you guys know of with less bleh business practices? -
@A-C-E I am still not sure what you're after..? if you mean from person to person then cash or paper crypto wallets I guess, but on the internet whatever the merchant accepts is what you'll use, besides that - do you mean some sort of secret CCs? one way or another it'll get processed by the CC company before any other instance.

@A-C-E Just realized with @HelloBaze 's comment that you might be after a solution to get paid yourself, not to pay somebody else lol

jonii25346yIf you don't mind reviewing it manually, use wire transfer. If that's even a thing outside of Europe.

A-C-E57026y@JoshBent to clarify: I’m basically looking for like all of the above. Something like PayPal except where they don’t just lock you out of your account and stop you from accessing your money whenever they feel like it. Essentially I just want a way to pay and get paid easily while remaining as in control of my money as is practical.
Reading over your comments too, it seems like there isn’t really anything for this that exists besides maybe just using plain old credit/debit cards everywhere. -
A-C-E57026y@Revenger HOLY SHIT YOU ARE AMAZING THIS IS AWESOME (well I haven’t tried it but it looks perfect)
-
@A-C-E not sure why you're so hyped, the service does not solve any of your mentioned problems really, right?
-
A-C-E57026y@JoshBent kinda does actually. The primary thing I’m looking for is to be more in control of my money and not be under PayPal’s control where they can lock down my account for “ security reasons” and stop me from accessing funds when I have always had a strong password and 2FA (nevermind that they only have SMS 2FA)
This would allow me to use a card (which is arguably more widely supported than PayPal) while protecting from the issues that arise with giving your real card number out everywhere and having to change it should something happen (like unauthorized charges)
Privacy.com apparently also allows you to set limits on each merchant and things like that, so bonus control -
A-C-E57026yEssentially it’s more wanting to control my money than privacy necessarily since pretty much every financial institution worth it’s salt is going to require a lot of personal info to be compliant with the laws and there isn’t really a way around that besides bitcoin, which still has some major problems to work out.
-
@A-C-E I see, well then it does solve your issue indeed I guess, except that your bank could block you too, which is much more rare than PayPal though of course.

Does anyone have suggestions for privacy respecting payment services?
I currently use PayPal and Venmo but I don’t really trust PayPals business practices and am investigating other options.
any suggestions ?
