Root784292dRejected? Try ridiculed for them in front of the entire engineering department by the engineering VP (or my direct manager), and later having to endure listening to that same engineering VP (or thundercunt manager) praise his (or her) favorite golden boy for the very same fking idea. And then they miraculously forget that I ever suggested it, and get really angry when I show them slack history.
This (and similar scenarios) have happened so many times that I’ve simply stopped suggesting anything.

@Root Damn, I felt sick reading that, out of empathy. I'm sorry to hear that. Yes, same for me.
-
I don't say my ideas I just do them
I hate words
I also wouldn't care if they stole it. my ideas are meant to make my life easier. so if they'll make my life easier for me I don't have anything to complain about
---
though disrespect is something else. like pretending that I'm not the hotshot that I am is pretty annoying, or demeaning comments when I make everything run. that's not cool -
I got credit for my ideas though but it didn't reflect my pay. just effected how management wanted me to be there for everything even when it was unnecessary
also known as punishment. you work more hours, have to be on call, but somehow they can't find the money to even pay you industry standard. so I don't care about their compliments. the compliments were empty. they called me perfect and even slashed my bonuses (cuz apparently I was getting over the capped limit before... huh I wonder why!). words don't do shit for me -
Root784292d@jestdotty Kind (if empty) words are still nice when you feel ignored and/or demeaned continually.
-
Flygger19712dI've always gone by "if they didn't like my idea, I didn't present it well enough"
That lead me to "if I presented it thrice and it was not accepted, I'll stop trying"
And at that point it would either become apparent who were less clever or the problem wouldn't really matter much any longer... -
Protecting your ideas and coming with a plan to execute them with the right people is the key. I used to just throw my ideas randomly in meetings until I saw people actually implementing them and taking credit for it.

jestdotty631122h@Root that's too much enmeshment for me
I don't respect such shitty people. what would it matter to me what they say about me?
I'm just there for money. don't let them get in your head. they're not your friends. if you're lonely get better friends and don't demean yourself like that even in your own imagination, nor by entertaining the feels that they're actually your friends (the warm fuzzies, the hopes and dreams and all that). friends don't do that to their friends -
jestdotty631122hEnmeshment is a psychological concept describing family dynamics where personal boundaries are blurred, leading to an unhealthy level of emotional involvement among family members. This can result in individuals losing their sense of identity and autonomy as they prioritize the needs of others over their own.
done in cults and abusive families, and how shitty managers try to get in your head -
@jestdotty Go-getter jestdotty. Do you hate books and writing as well? Hm.
You're pretty funny, jestdotty. Yes, the industry is full of arrogant, credit-stealing narcissists. -
@jestdotty This 'role' thing is the biggest bullshit ever. Management wants you to be there and delegate, yes. And you know the rest.
Yes, in my case I didn't work more hours but I did spend fewer hours on my main job title activities and I had to certify in the new role, all without extra pay. 'learning opportunities'. They can go fuck themselves.

Have you ever proposed great ideas to the company, yet they were rejected time after time, only for some half-assed golden favorite boy to steal the show for you with their half-assed idea?
I mean, now I understand that once you've been long enough in the industry, you express a deep, long sigh at least once a day. Plus, it affects your mental health. Not giving a fuck and just working on yourself more and your personal projects is crucial.
