Objective-c receives a lot of hate from people who don't use it. I did at first. However I started to like it when I began using it. Now there are better alternatives to it, like swift, but it really isn't that bad.
Now perl on the other hand =💩 -
@FelisPhasma obj-c has a lot of power, but I think what bothers me is just how much more you have to write for something simple like this. a lot of other C based languages do this way better.

Exactly. It was an attempt to make an object oriented C language, and it failed miserably in comparison to C++. It's just a mess.

Objective-C was the first programming language I learned. I actually don't mind Objective-C. Though I do like Swift a lot too.
Eh, so many languages to like and hate on. Just my 2 cents.
