I'm sick and tired of nepotism and cronyism at work.

I just had to get this out of my system because it's broodingly pissing me off.

    I watched this the other day and this is actually what an ex of mine, who I regarded as the most horrible person I ever met, was entirely like: https://youtube.com/watch/...

    I think now I understand social intelligence after that. somehow made it all click

    despite not needing to be dishonest, he was always just power hungry like that

    (also not saying it's necessarily bad. valid Machiavellian tactic if you're that nihilist. at least you get to know the actual game -- sacrifice humanity to yourself being a pussy)

    @jestdotty And now investing 35 minutes into jestdotty. Heheheh. Or perhaps fewer, because I'll speed it up, the video.

    People who lol around shouldn't get benefits for it.

    I also hate power-hungry people. They piss all over the company atmosphere.

    Yeah.. the perception sucks. It's not how good I am, it's people's perception and bias, which fucks things up a lot.

    Fuck networking. I'm just there to do my job and go home.

    Fuck dishonesty. I have my integrity.

    Do I want to go around being manipulative? Nah. I want to do my own thing.

    What infuriates me is that the biggest lead in our company was given that role because of how much he fucking smiles and whatever, not by skills. I discovered his bs one day when he has a decade more experience than I do and I easily kick him to the curb tech skills wise. I was appalled, really.

    @CaptainRant yes

    it's all about how similar people think you are to them or things that are familiar to them or things they like in their life (how it works in the brain)

    and ok just the machivellianness of stalking someone and then leaving breadcrumbs of having the same interests as them. this even explains smalltalk, which never made any sense to me because it was always obvious to me nobody asking those questions actually cared what your answers were. it would always make me so confused

    @jestdotty Yeah, they want to live in their familiarity.

    lol the small-talk. Haha. Yes, why would they ask me how I'm doing, when they don't give a fuck?
