Am I the only one who hates these 9-5 work times?
Right now it's almost midnight and I'm awake and my mind is productive, but I know tomorrow at work I'll be tired until lunch atleast and only from like 3-6 on I'll start being really productive. Wish I could work from like 5pm to 1am..

I get you, bro. It's often exactly the same for me.

Talk to your boss! Maybe you two can come up to a working solution?

    Ask for a night shift

This is why I work from home.
Kinda annoys my boss a little, but irdfc lol

I'm not a morning person. I'm not even an afternoon person. I work whenever 'til whenever, and often put in 10+ hours a day. It's kinda nice.

I think all devs work like this. Right?

@rasmus @devTea sadly that isn't an option, because:
    0. We have to be there during day time in order to give support. (Small internal IT, so we do support for the tools we made)
    1. It would be a whole lot to organize with HR, security,.. because nobody works at night.
    2. I'm still a trainee, so I sometimes need a lot of help from coworkers.

I'm lucky to be able to do 10-ish to 1830-ish.

Mostly, I work from 9am to 7pm. My company's HR policy strictly says that employees should stay at office for 9 hours. The company has no work at home option. If this is not enough, my manager asks me to support on weekends. So, I typically spend around 60 hours/week. It has already ruined my work-life balance. It's just a matter of time before I burn-out and leave. Discussion with HR/manager never changed anything.

@kronos 9h is way too fucking long, you can't tell me you stay concentrated for the whole time..

@hugh-mungus I usually sleep 8h a night in the week, only my weekends are sometimes like no sleep or in the afternoon.

@hugh-mungus When I'm at work I get up at 7:30, when I have school I get up between 6:30 an 9:30 and back in high school I got up at 6.30 too, so yeah, I just can't do early hours..

@jonii I try to spend about 5 hours/day for actual work and the rest on something to train myself. I definitely can't say I can be productive all the time. At peak schedules, I had even worked beyond midnight and that's because I work in a globally distributed team. The management simply ignore or doesn't respect timezone differences. For them, delivery to customers is the only thing that matters.
