Not an ad, I swear

AI Pro is now part of the Jetbrains All Products Pack I've been subscribed to since I started my current job 11 years ago.

Although I haven't found tremendous value in AI for coding, it gets a B or B+ for serving the right documentation without having to trudge through Google to find it. And to ignore it would be foolish, so I'm at least going to be acquainted with it.

Don't see why this would be an ad. All i see is a big guy once against AI but now admits that it has some benefits :)

@retoor No one will ever accuse me of being too malleable or open to change, but when I'm convinced of something, I'm convinced.

It is very helpful for getting going on things I don't know much about, like shader programming and c++.

Ultimately, I think that's the main goal. To give people a running start where they can then develop expertise, as opposed to not getting started at all.

I will argue the ethical implications of how it was trained until the day I die, but I think it's a lesser of two evils type situation. Either the knowledge and skills go into the void or they're scraped without consent or compensation so that people can do something with them.

So I have Pycharm community version. I started typing true instead of True. It autofilled some random function AND fucking added an import line at the start of the file. So it thought I wanted some random function from some random library I wasn't even using.

Tell me the AI in Jetbrains is better than this cluster in Pycharm. I am to the point of hating just regular autocomplete in some products. It should be opt in (keystroke like ctrl-space), not full auto. Never go full auto.

@Demolishun The machine learning full line completion is very hit or miss. Sometimes it will know exactly what I'm trying to do line after line and saves a ton of time. Other times it gives me nonsense that just wastes my time. I don't think it can be disabled while the assistant plug-in is enabled, or else I would.

I just assume and hope that this will get better.
