@mkdirLuci4 doesn't seem so bad atm, but I have heard that it is pretty performance intensive.

rvnx11597yWait until you realize it collects trash in %appdata%. My folder was 15GB at one point!

otavio6167yAtom is great, but it’s a little bit slow. Try vscode. It’s built on atom, but i find the performance better.
-
@j-dev-o I did try out vscode but honestly I wasn't a fan. Didnt really like the ux and seems to have a lot of node.js support but not so much with php, which is what I'm mostly using atm.
-
otavio6167y@konicm8ker did you take a look at extensions for php? There must be one. It took a little bit to get used to the UI
-
@0fffh you happen to know a good way to debug with php executable installed on a remote server? That seems to be a headache for me. I've gotten it to work with atom so far, but it's still a pain.
-
@j-dev-o yeah that could be my problem. That VS interface has always seemed cluttered to me when I used it in the past. I'll have to look more into the extensions.

Jahhein467yWhile sublime’s indexing can spike CPU for a few minutes sometimes, it is a much greater choice along with VSCode.
-
@whatevs I have. Just wasnt a fan of the ui tbh. Atom has been working great for me so far, but maybe I'll spend some more time with vscode and give it a chance.

Mewa807yVSCode is better and has better performance. I used Atom for like two months pretty much every day. Then one day with VSCode and I never turned back.

brahn15747yIf you like that, wait until you try Sublime Text!
It may cost money, but it's the best money I've spent in a long time. -
@brahn Funny thing is, I've been using ST for the past couple years xD I just wanted to try something different.

Playing around with Atom and I'm pretty impressed with it so far. Might keep using it and see if it becomes my new favorite code editor :)
