py2js33777yLeave the windows if you hate it so much. Why didn't you curse Linux for using forward slash? Partial thinking and stereotypes. It's seriously not a big issue, both of them are different systems, get used to the fact and stop blaming them
-
I'm seriously getting sick of the constant "I tried Windows, it's not working" posts when I know damn well Linux can be a pain in the ass to get working, but nobody complains about that.
-
I hate using Windows file paths in IDEs because they think I am trying to escape a char and not actually make a file path.
-
theuser48027yYes, they COULD have used / like every other unix-system, but not sure you can blame MS because MS-DOS was just a rename of 86-DOS
Edit: nevermind, 86-DOS did use / like a good boy -
goodJVM11077y@theuser yeah, it was not MS fault alone, it's IBM who were already using the / for other purpose in their programs written for DOS and MS for comparability reasons had to leave it like that and go for \
-
JCAP3067ySometimes I also get confused, but I get the feeling "something isn't right" when I see the wrong one so I correct it quickly

theuser48027y@dontbeevil 90+% of consumer market share*. Linux is pretty much found everywhere except the consumer market space where Microsoft has a firm grip, so the usage of "/" is way higher than "\"
Even URL's use "/" because its pretty much a de facto standard. -
theuser48027y@dontbeevil Thing is, Unix (came late 60's) also had / and Linux as we know is based on Unix.
You can go to the wiki link below here and read about its usages, particularly the Microsoft section.

Am I the only one who gets confused between the forward slash / and the back slash \ ¿
fuck you windows for using \ for paths you are the reason for my suffering.
