Germans get made fun of for being focused on work and not wanting to have fun (at work).

But it's exactly what I like about them. I would join and work at a German company in a split second.

Fuck all the small talks and fun Fridays, let's just get the work done, get paid and go home and have fun at home.

Is hell freezing over, I'm agreeing with sid

I agree with that, especially the mandatory company trips and other “bonding” activities are annoying me. Plus it’s always a point of dispute with the missus, and quite frankly a waste to pull holiday off on to escape..

I’m at work to zugzug and get the job done, and get paid so I can provide for my family. I’m not there to make friends and sing kumbaya while dancing in a big circle like we in kindergarten.

noooo you must attend the after work drinks, we're like a family! we're all going go-karting and attendance is mandatory!

    @lotd company trips..?

we don't get that where I work

@AceDev happier workforce = more productivity.
Usually trips are either some conference on $hypedBuzzword
Or a disguise for luring devs into product demos. Because when HR goes to customers to demo they usually come back with a lot of feedback and frustrations the dev team just giggles at.

weird... we're having a lot of fun at work. AND we're productive.

I never said anything about productivity. Yes I realize that happier teams means more productivity but Germans don't need to be happy to be productive.

@aviophille thanks for the compliment, dude, i appreciate it.
  • 4
@aviophille well, why don't you show me how it's done first?
  • 1
@aviophille again: not to other people in general. mostly to the few individuals like you who actually are dumb.
  • 2
@aviophille let me know when you passed "basic english for dummies 101", seems you failed at both "comprehensive reading" AND "copying simple words"
  • 1
@aviophille "you retards" - are you seeing multiple people, or are you just being racist again?

    @aviophille @tosensei

Stop it you two, I can't keep up with hitting the ++ button on every comment 🤣🤣
  • 2
@aviophille and that's the difference between you and me.

while you have very disturbing violent fantasies against me (and a whole bunch of unrelated people)....

if i saw you drowning, i'd jump in and risk my life trying to save you.

not matter how much of a whiny, pathetic little shit you are.
  • 1
@aviophille "how do i train sentience" - first step would "not go apeshit bonkers to the max just because some rando on the internet is mean to me".
  • 2
@aviophille so what? i'd still jump in.

as i mentioned. that's the difference between you and me.
  • 1
@aviophille well - couldn't you just stop raging around like a rabid little monkey that fell into a vat of amphetamines?

also funny that this is your only takeaway
  • 1
@SidTheITGuy sorry, i'm having too much fun right now ^^

@tosensei be sure to let him pass out before you jump in. Otherwise he will drown you both.

only that there is another kind of German work culture which is pretend to work and never, ever shame your coworkers by performing better than them.

    ^ that's an on-topic comment but nevermind

@aviophille dude you started out by insulting an entire nation of people.
