OH YEAH SURE, YOU'RE A TINY USER ON A HUGE ASS SHARED SERVER, OF COURSE I'LL GIVE YOU ROOT ACCESS TO REBOOT THE WHOLE FUCKING SERVER.

Worst part, he didn't understand why that would be weird.

Can I buy a little common sense somewhere for this guy?

    @linuxxx just asking here cause I'm oblivious. :) Isn't that insecure? What if his application gets compromised? Wouldn't that in theory compromise the whole server?

    @Radioh Every user has their own php sockets and so on. Kinda like sandboxing each envionment. Next to that, monitoring everything through firewalls and intrusion detection systems which automatically isolate shit going wrong so yah, pretty secure if you ask me :)

    Reminds me of that time this one dense motherfucker in my office had to force power off his computer, and since "just keep the button pressed seemed not good" decided to go to the safety switch of the area.

    Make "sudo" an alias to a script that executes every command as normal user. Except for "reboot", then it exits the session.
    "Hey, here you have your permissions to reboot the server. Have fun!"

    @Ashkin I change my avatar about 5 times a week. Sometimes guy, other times girl, there are so many different combinations I figure I'll be creative and try a bunch of them out. There's no rule that my avatar has to look like me 😀😀
