How do you go about finding work in the tech industry, to me it seems far harder sell then anything else?

Right now I’m struggling to get new business in since I do websites and apps

It seems because it’s niche and it’s a lot of money to put down it’s a risky sell to someone you don’t really know.

I believe my sites are quite good and I get decent feedback from customers telling me they get good results from their new site

🤷‍♂️ so I’m a bit at a loss

I’d like so advice, sometimes I need to code for pretty much 2-3 days straight

I try to power nap on occasion as I know being tired can have a bit of an effect.

I need to stay alert so I was wondering what tips and tricks people may have to help

As I need to stay away from caffeine now 😒

I was 4 when I was allowed at school to be on the single computer in reception. It came to break time the teachers just left me on it.

I think that’s because when my brother was kicked off 2 years prior (similar situation) he kicked up the biggest fuss possible so when it came to my first time they just went “nope not touching that”

And then a programmer was born

This guy has been fucking up non stop!

He did something incredible, we gave him precise EXACT instructions you couldn’t mistake them

What does he do? Everything wrong.

Granted what he does, works, but... it will take me hours to do what I want to do with the data, if he did it the right way, minutes!

All I wanted was all the active products for this company and their links on the site. He creates an export I can convert to google xml shopping.

What does he do? create over a 100 export buttons one for each supplier so it’s right but it’s all products for that supplier in one file.

So I can do my bit if I just combine 100 files together 😂

It’s funny because there’s already an export that does the exact thing we want just without all the right fields. This is what we asked.

He just needed to duplicate that and add more fields 😂 we think he’s doing it on purpose to be a dick 😂 no one can be that dumb.

I’m laughing cause it’s fucking ridiculous. He’s gonna get fired soon, and he knows it.

Client: I cleaned my mac

I mean she literally got cleaning wipes ... and cleaned her computer

P.s I told her all this before and how to many, many times

I've been working my ass off making websites finally made money and my brother goes and spends it all on more computers 😔

Does anyone else have major issues with being interrupted whilst programming

I just lose track , I have it all in my head get an email read it try and get back into it but it takes me 10 minutes

Problem is I'm the main dev. I get a lot of emails 😔

On top of that the dns wasn't transferred over so currently the old site is dead 🙄

I've sadly been using an iPhone for the past few weeks 😔

I'm a hard core android fan but,well if I'm honest with you I got super high and got amnesia woke up with a dead screen on my android phone so got myself an iPhone since I needed to test an app I'm building , comes to think of it that women twice my age I kissed to piss her off might of broken it .. so my friends say ...

Anyway the point being iphones ... not that bad I'm aware people praise their software but it's to rigid for my liking there's features android has I believe that makes it superior

Cameras are better ... build quality is solid. Can't complain really. My android was a one plus 3 great phone also

I might get the s8 I'm waiting to see if they hold up or the new one plus phone if I find the specs ...

The point is as devs we get so stuck in our ways I consider us generally the most open Minded people but not when it comes to tech we are generally hard core fan boys of one company or another

But in truth, there's a lot of great products out there worth our money even if they are apple ... money grabbing bitches.

I say this because my hate for apple whilst it's still there I can at least respect them a little for certain things especially their phones

I program at night but my clients don't work at night ... clearly need work from other time zones

My first dev job my boss, understood me so well. i think he must of been like me as a kid. Much like when people go to uni people say they change so much. He knew i was just in my shell, shy, but capable.

I turned 18 and he straight away wanted to get me to nightclubs! i don't remember much from the night, except, i got into a bit of a fight (we won) stole a huge pitcher of some kind of drink (to drunk to taste it) and danced on the tallest part of the stage most of the night, kind of like the spotlight of the entire place. It was epic, and it certainly made me come out of me shell.

This other dev company is unsecure and my client which is also there's should be secure
So Im getting them to secure it but what if they only do it for my client all their other clients are unsecure and they are teaching the young devs to do it unsecurely
