Gradle sucks ass

Nah. It just has an extremely dense API.

Gradle is the programmable swiss army knife.

Maven is fine, too - *lot* easier.

Most buildsystems though are hard..

Lot of specific and intertwined knowledge.

If you ever wanna have an afternoon crying, try to implement a dependency resolution mechanism.

Shits hard.

Gradle can suck, but some of the best, most reliable scaffolding and build scripts I've ever had the privilege to run were built with Gradle, so I know that it doesn't have to suck.
