I want to make a meme bot sort of a service which delivers memes to you everyday or something like that.
The bot making procedure is quite straightforward, but I would like to have opinions as to how to proceed with the meme delivery / meme service agent?
Like can we (legally) scrape 9GAG or something like that!?

    No, Unless you find a notice explicitly allowing use you should always assume any images are copyrighted.

    If its for personal use or very small scale or if you can claim fair use you could probably do it but thats it at least legally.

    Not that every one always cares :/

    @Voxera After reading the rules @ 9GAG , I comprehended that if I mention the source too , and give appreciation to the content creator, would try be any harm?

    @lokiiarora It all depends on if the copyright holder has allowed it. Fair use is applicable in some cases but I would not count memes as such.

    But if 9gag has specified that images might be used as long as source is specified it might be ok.

    Mind you, I am not a lawyer so its mostly guess work.
