Out of curiosity,

Any HDL programmers here? Verilog, VHDL, Bluespec,... Anyone?

    @milkybarkid oh great! Just want to know how many people here are into hdl. So, you do it as a hobby?

    Kinda, I would get the odd bit of FPGA work thrown my direction in work but it's mostly my own projects; I did an implementation of an Ethernet MAC in verilog on the NetFPGA-1G-CML for my final year project. Work paid for the board because there was potential for designing our own Ethernet testing device (we write drivers for network processors) instead of using things like the Spirent Test Center which cost a fortune.

    @Lahsen2016 Verilog is much easier coming from a C background in terms of syntax.

    @milkybarkid sounds great!!

    @Lahsen2016 people from c background generally prefer Verilog. If you are learning purely out of interest, then it is a personal preference. Try both before settling. But if you are doing for a job, you should probably learn what you will be using there.

    P.s: I personally hate VHDL

    @Raamakrishnan I had Verilog in my curriculum for my studies. So I did it then.
