The interviewer pointed out that I missed a semi-colon on the whiteboard code .I was like... sorry, but the whiteboard can't compile this code!

In my opinion, whitebordcode should not be 100% percent syntactic correct. If it has semicolons, quotes or encapsulation is not important.

I wasn't there, but sometimes an interviewer will do that kind of thing on purpose just to see how you react.

With Software Development being a team sport, some of them want to see how you react to criticism.

If you talked back, THATS why you weren't selected.
