I'd prefer just pressing the "Rant" on top, like the feed behaves when pressing "devRant". But better than nothing
-
Pizza35357yGood idea! XD
Seriously, yes, but I'd say that a HUGE improvement would just be avoiding to clear the whole page each time you press refresh.
Loading in background would be nice, maybe spinning the refresh icon as a progress indicator -
@Pizza yeah, I'd like loading in the background, too. Plus how is 64 unsettling? What bit computer do you use?
-
Pizza35357y@calmyourtities ok ok, the fact that it is a power of 2 saves you from hell
(where all people who do not check notifs go) -
@Pizza I hope dfox adds that notifs filter I asked for, I don't really care how many notifs I have if they're just "x ++'d your rant/comment"
-
dfox428267y@CozyPlanes can you please stop spreading false information and talking like an authority on anything we do? I’m getting tired of it.
Adding the refresh button had absolutely nothing to do with the silly bug you found that was very fixable, but was marked as extremely low priority because it was pretty much unnoticeable under any circumstance.
The refresh button was added for one reason and one reason only - we wanted to make it easier to refresh comment threads when you reached the bottom without having to refresh at the top and scroll all the way back down. -
@dfox still don't get one thing - why couldn't you do that with pressing "Rant"?
-
dfox428267y@calmyourtities what do you mean? Have it scroll to the bottom? We thought that would be weird functionality, tapping something in tv top and having it scroll to the bottom.
Like a few other screens and the general way those interactions work, we think having pressing “Rant” should have you end up at the top of the list. -
@dfox I guess so, but the refresh button looks pretty forced, not really natural.
-
@calmyourtities @dfox for me it's the fact that it looks like an error. It looks to me like it's saying "oops I failed to load some comments, tap me to try again". I think other apps tend to do this so I'm expecting consistency.
I do love the improvement though, don't get me wrong :) -
github95617yHi @dfox . We all really appreciate your and @trogus effort for making UX much better everytime.
I do accept the refresh button do look awkward.
Have you considered refreshing by scrolling from top of rant or bottom of rant when it reaches the end.

devRant has a good design, but am i the only one who finds the refresh button a bit unsettling? Would anyone else prefer something else?
