@runfrodorun based on the fact I had to Google the abbreviations and still not knowing what CFM means, I have to say I am a student who bought used servers that are now in my room laying on a shelf.

I have exactly NULL experience in enterprise grade hardware, or the process behind maintaining such hardware!

Soooo what does CFM mean and is my assumption correct that mtbr means "mean time between repairs"?

@runfrodorun but yes it's a fighting jet starting infront of you. Also if they are at low rpm they sound a bit like an air siren! It's a feeling you can't really describe ^^

@runfrodorun soo it's a compiling cluster? Just curious how to set up a compilation cluster.. isn't compiling a linear process that has to be synced?

And ahhh now CFM makes sense, in consumer grade aftermarket fans (120mm) I sometimes read about it. Often airflow optimized fans advertise them with high CFM!

And colocation cost a sh*t ton of money.. wish I had a rack at a Datacenter!

@runfrodorun also nothing really braked down.. I just broke it myself somehow. But it's funny how a CPU reseat(swapping the bays) and a psu reset (same as before) can magically fix everything.. also my server doesn't seem to like new processors.. only the one it came with work.. even as single socket option, it won't take any other CPU

@runfrodorun That's pretty fkn awesome! But as long it's an, more or less, closed environment it's not this big of deal if it's not 100% secure!

Also I tried to create a Linux (distro?) myself.. but somewhere between creating the toolchain and compiling the kernel is my error.
