I've completely forgotten to write by hand. Haven't held a ballpoint in ~ 10 years.
I am a terminal guy, so todo.txt and taskwarrior are my friends. -
@tracktraps Yea i did that too at first, but designing tables and ui stuff is pretty difficult not to do on paper for me.
Also, i tend to doodle when thinking haha -
@thevariableman the problem with trello and todoist etc for me is that I just forget them, paper can be moved, but constantly lays there on the desk and either annoys me or takes my attention to check on them

raulqf3007yYeah!! I use both, a text file to follow the progress and a paper for the todo today tasks!!! It's so pleasant when you cross a finished task... 😁
-
@theScientist well I'm dutch, working at a dutch company, and writing a report in dutch for my dutch school.

@GodHatesMe I just get extremely anxious about forgetting stuff. I don't trust my memory enough. But yea it's true.

@marthulu I work in a localization company. I love when I can recognize a language I do not speak. :) Thanks for confirming. :)

@brunofontes Sounds interesting, can you tell more? (except for the very basic that your company translates documents I guess?)
-
@JoshBent I used to do the engineer part: prepare files, convert them, extract texts from images etc, so the translators could use the Translation tools (tools that help the translation by storing each translated sentence. When you have the same sentence again or one that it really close to the stored one, it just grabs your translation, so you just need to check or make a small change).
Nowadays we use a lot of machine translation, with reviewers to keep the text as if it were translated by a person.
After the translation, we need to come back with the text to the original format (it can be any kind of file: docx, pptx, INDD, ai, xlsx, swf, jpg etc and subtitling).
It is very common that a translated text grows about 30%, so we need to format all the files. Then it's just to test, comparing with the source and deliver.
As I did that kind of job for basically every language, you get used to them. :)
Actually I just manage projects.
