SSD will probably be the best thing that has happened to you in a while if you never used one.

highlord237ySSD is really a great upgrade, but with 4gb of ram you might be on the low end.
I'd look on my ram usage, and if its often close to the limit it might be better to do the ram.
If that isn't a problem, an SSD would give you a nice performance boost.l while the ram might not be noticeble. -
awnumar2937yIf you can only do one, then upgrade the HDD to an SSD, without a doubt. i3 is alright, and the RAM is sufficient if you're running Linux.
But if you can do both the SSD and the RAM, do that. 8GB would be a good shout. -
