At work:

Why is there no refresh when we submit data into the tables?

Me: there is, but there is no page refresh, as it should be.

Them: but how do we know if the data is being added?

Me: well you can see it in the table right? Look there is even a small message over here **points at message** that indicates the entry code and position.

Them: yeah but how can we tell? Can you make it to where there is a page refresh?

    I’ve had that issue before. I tend to add a small css overlay so users “think” it’s doing something rather then taking a blink of an eye to change over.

    @Jonnyforgotten we were using small blinking gif's, stretched and reused multiple times for faster loading times. a 1.2MB image took 5 minutes to load. Then I remember that porn site which splitted up big images in small parts, so that the page was faster loading as well (not really, but the browser had at least something to display).

    That, @Jonnyforgotten, is a really good question! I really think that they drive technology always more on the edge than anybody else. So we can learn from from them a lot..
