I've used a Mac for 2 months and already love it. I've been a Windows user for like 10+ years but holy fuck, Windows is a giant pile of flaming fucking trash. Looking back, I don't even know why I continued to use it after the launch of that absolutely abysmal "OS" they called Windows 8.

    You didnt even say why?

Personally did the same thing and as a web developer who often has like 4 separate devtools windows open at the same time I hate the mac os interface.
Can't even see all my active windows in the dock.

Also don't get how they don't have a native window docking / easy split screen feature. (But yeah, Spectacle does the job) You always see mac users having a clutter of partially overlapping windows stacked randomly allover the screen.

@jiraTicket I disagree. On macOS, it's just how you're able to handle the windows of your open applications. I mean, there are too many options to do so:
    1. Exposé
    2. Mission Control
    3. Multiple desktops
    4. Multiple monitors
    5. CMD + tab
    6. CMD + ` (switch between application windows for the same application)

I use all of the above and have many different productivity tools that make the macOS user experience even better. The only shitty software on Mac is made by..... yep, by Microsoft.
Nope, I wouldn't go back to Windows!

@linuxxx if you run Linux on a Mac you can use it as your regular windows (oh irony) key. On Mac OS... Yeah it can suck a lot if you're not used to it

@CluelessBanana @CluelessBanana yes there are many options but none is close to as effective as a simple taskbar that shows all open windows.

Alt+tabbing or mission control (equivalent of windowskey+tab) are not effective when you switch between windows a lot.

@CluelessBanana to me not having a taskbar is the equivalent of a desktop web-browser without visible tabs 😐

and someone going "just use ctrl+tab to circle through them!" as if that's equally effective

To be fair though the default setting on fresh windows installations nowadays is also to group instances of the same program into a single item on the taskbar.

But it's a user controlled setting, which I choose to disble.

As far as I know you can't configure that in the mac dock, because "it's not designed that way" and that bums me out

Windows 8.1 seems fine to me. (Linux is way better thou) And having a look at the information gathering and slowly forcing the user to use Microsofts services is keeping me from upgrading.
