After like, 7 years, I had to code a native (as in, c++) VR activity for an Android project.

I had forgotten how much I hate fucking JNI.

    How bad was it though?

    What were some problems you encountered?

    Nah, no problems really, besides the usual Gradle tomfoolery.

    It's just I find JNI a pain to work with. Particularly the fact you can't reuse code because of having to add bullshit package name to methods.

    For all the resources it hogs, Android studio could at least handle that.

    @CoreFusionX you always talk about software and stuff. Been to Eindhoven yet?

    @retoor

    Concert is on September 17th.

    I've booked my stay from the 14th to the 18th.

    Shameless necro due to lack of DMs, luckily won't upset algo people too much.

    @retoor

    Finally departing tomorrow.

    Just one thing that (while I did my homework), just to avoid potential faux pas.

    Am I right in thinking tipping culture in NL is like here?

    Not already charged, not demanded, not expected, but welcome if you were well-served?

    @CoreFusionX yes, exactly like that. Tipping is not expected. Have fun dude

    Thanks, will do! If it rains come Monday, it was my fault for bellowing my lungs out xd

    @retoor

    Thanks.

    Also, something I could not find.

    Is OVpay / OV chipkaart valid for intercity buses or only for city buses?

    @retoor

    Great! Thanks!

    @retoor

    Felt like I had to say.

    Aside from some trouble with OVpay (but mainly that was my bank being retarded), and the ridiculous (no you won't convince me otherwise) dinner times, it was a thoroughly lovely and enjoyable stay in the Netherlands. You dutch people are a joy to be with.

    Also the bikes. Bikes everywhere. Could have just ridden throughout the whole country.

    And the concert was awesome, and Arjen Lucassen deserves a statue in Tilburg.

    And, once again, thanks for putting up with my stupid questions! ☺️
