Giving a short talk on technical debt at our monthly meeting tomorrow. I hope it helps people in my organization understand why we need to take care of all the quick and dirty work we do. I'm tired of people saying how long updates take and the reason is because we cause the problems.

I give this talk to all my managers... doesn't help much tho...

After reading this rant, I googled about Technical Debt. I wish I knew this 3 years ago when dealing with clients who can't make a fucking decision to go with a Blue Color or a Brown Color for their background.

Our manager wouldnt let us put a fix in our codebase for the new tab bar layout in iOS 11. The reason? The issue will only appear when the app is built from Xcode 9, our build server uses Xcode 8, so it wont affect our clients yet.
So thats the attitude we have. If nobody is reporting it, dont fix it, even though we have a fix that works and we know it will be an issue.
Apparently our manager has never heard of tech debt.
