    @Linux how many piracy & abuse emails do you receive for having a relay?
  • 3
    @lotd
    In total - maybee 50 over the last 6 Month
  • 3
    @Linux I see. I got bombed to the point that my local isp contacted us thinking we were spamming xD

    @lotd
    Yeah, I got authorities knocking on my door actually when I had a exit node at home. They understood it quickly because they know what Tor is.

    After that I moved me exit node to blazingfast.io, and set up a relay at home

    I smell the onion

    it's a Tor-shirt
  • 1
    @Linux Damn, never actually thought the authority's would learn.

    @Schlarman
    Me neither, I have a simple html page on the machine that says "THIS IS A TOR EXIT ROUTER" and with an explanation about what Tor is.

    But no,,,

    @Linux thought about setting up a relay at home too.
    Do you think there will be much traffic? (because of ISP)

    And btw : do you know if blazingfast Vps have TUN enabled?
  • 2
    @ThoughtfulDev
    You can run a relay at home :)
    You can limit the bandwith if you want/need

    Dont know what TUN is :p
  • 2
    @ThoughtfulDev
    Yeah tunnel right?
  • 2
    @Linux thanks :) any tutorial on the bandwidth limiting part? I barely know how to setup the tor relay :D

    I mean if I can install a VPN server on them (for which tun needs to be enabled :D)
  • 2
    @ThoughtfulDev
    Tor-relay.co is a good site for started :)

    Not by default but you can enable it :)
  • 2
    @ThoughtfulDev LimitBandwith on torrc is enough :)

    Whatever you guys are talking about it's cool :/
  • 2
    If you run a relay at home, be advised that certain websites might block you — even if it's not an exit.

    For example, I couldn't edit Wikipedia for about 2 years.

    @bittersweet
    Yeah I noticed after just a day :) Could not login to League Of Legends
    Luckily, my ISP offer two IP's, so my relay runs on one completely isolated from the rest of my network

    New to tor.. please correct me if am wrong..
    Does having a tor relay at home earns a free t-shirt + stickers from tor?

    Note: don't know what "tor relay" even means.. that's what the entire conversations were talking about..

    Die hard lover of free tees and stickers... 😜😝

    @github
    You are not wrong :)
    https://torproject.org/getinvolved/...

    You dont have to run it at home either, a VPS will do just fine.

    A Tor-relay is a server that shuffles traffic in the "The Onion Router"

    @Linux I guess I found something new to learn, don't know how interesting it will turn out, but for now keeping the goal as earning a tee and stickers.. 😜
    Thanks for sharing the link..
    It's an open source platform. Right?
  • 3
    @github
    Tor is opensource :)
    Also, you can user almost everthing over Tor if it supports SOCKS5

    @Linux cool. Already looking into it keeping aside my overdue tasks.. 😂
