Unfortunately, WordPress doesn't provide built-in functionality for exporting user data. The only way to do it is using an import and export user plugin.

But that's fine. Don't waste your time on essential functionality, just keep adding more features and gimmicks to your Gartenzwerg editor.

Always good if you got your priorities right.

    Someone else did it so why do it again? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    I wrote a browser automation script recently to enter hundreds of texts into wordpress in a few minutes because this useless pos doesn't provide any import functionality
    Manually doing it would have taken days/weeks

    WordPress is a content management system for simple websites and blogs. You don't need advanced user management for that, but you do need a powerful content editor.

    If you're using WordPress for something where you need to import / export users, sincerely, fuck you and your abomination of a website.

    Why do people consider an ecosystem to only include the main monolith? This is like complaining the Linux kernel doesn't have a shell. Linux is a kernel. There are hundreds of other programs to support the rest of the OS features. Wordpress provides plugin functionality for a reason.

    Also, plugins for Wordpress are trivial to write.

    @Demolishun trivial to write but only accepted if you adhere to their pre-PSR coding standards though.

    cba to learn a whole new api for a one-time task

    @fraktalisman why would someone distribute a plugin for internal use?
  • 1
    @Demolishun why keep it to yourself?

    But I see what you mean.

    Some people just share their project's (mu-)plugins as gists so they don't have to waste the time for formalities.

    @fraktalisman people were talking about writing custom data entry scripts to control the interface. They could just write a plugin to put data into the database directly. Or even a script that runs on the server to do this.

    @Demolishun don't have permissions for either of those

    @devRancid that sucks, truly.
